Taking photos is not as simple as point and shoot. You must have a good sense of how to hold your camera and keep the shot focused. Though this is not very hard sometimes it might take awhile to figure out that your doing this simple step of photography wrong or not as well as you should be.

Many times as you look over your photos you might notice that they are a bit blurry or grainy. This is not your cameras fault. Most of the time the blame can be pinned right on the photographer for not having a steady hand. Though you don’t need a specific way to stand or sit while you take your pics, there are some helpful tips that could resolve all your unsteady camera problems.

For one you can get yourself better planted on the ground. You might be trying to get a good angle but that does not mean you can’t still find a good balance as your taking your photographs. Try crouching down on one knee, or positioning your legs one in front of the other to make your overall balance that much better. Even a simple thing like this really helps with keeping a steady camera while you take your shot.

Next thing you should do is keep your camera close to your body. Do not try and take photos with your arms stretched out away from you because this really makes it hard to keep the camera steady. Instead hold it closer to yourself to make keep steady or even keep it on top of your knee or tripod if you have one, if you don’t they are cheap and highly recommended. If you hold your digital camera close to you, you will have a better control on any shakes or movements.

Remember the less chance there is of movement while your taking a photo the more consistently better your pictures will come out. You won’t have to worry about those pesky blur problems all the time. With this help you can start taking better pictures right away and maybe shoot a certain picture that you just could not get right. So start shooting and get those dream shots you know you want!

Though this is only a small tip it can really start making an improvement in your photos instantly. If you would like more tips and helpful information you can visit Digital Photography Tips for some other things you might be missing. If your really looking into getting lots of help in digital photography, everything from what camera to buy, to how to put your photos online, you can go here Digital Photography Course to find a great course on making the best out of your photography hobby or career!

Every cat is proud of his or her friendly feline. Cats make perfect subjects in which to photograph. You can catch your cat and a variety of interesting and fun poses when you know how to take pictures of your cat. If you are interested in photographing your cat, here are some tips to help you purchase the best shots.

Catch your Cat Napping
Nothing looks quite as relaxing as a cat taking a nap. Cats do sleep a lot, so if you take a picture of your cat napping, you have plenty of opportunity. The best time to take a picture of your cat is to catch it when it is asleep. You can take close-ups of your cat either as it sleeps, or gently wake your cat up for a relaxed look. For a nice shot of your cat, try gently rubbing your cat’s belly right when you want to snap a picture. This will encourage your cat to roll over on its back.

Natural Sunlight
When you think of a sleeping cat, where do most cats enjoy sleeping? You can usually find a cat napping in the sun. If you have a window that gets full or filtered sunlight during the day, then try to open the curtains or blinds to encourage cap napping. As soon as you see your cat sit in the sun, try to take a few pictures. When the sunlight is good, try a few shots without using your flash. This will give your picture a nice natural glowing effect. In addition, natural light often works best anyway because if you use a bright flash, your cat will usually close his or her eyes or the eyes could end up looking red.

Forget Posing and Planning
Cats are much for posing. You cannot really ask that a cat stay and sit. When you take pictures of your cat, you should always have your camera on hand for candid shots. Look at your cat during the day and determine your cat’s schedule and favorite places. Take steps around your cat and you will purchase better pictures. Try to be spontaneous, and above all stay patient. It may take several tries to get a couple of great shots, but posing your cat rarely works.

I have tried to get my three cats to pose and let me take a picture, but even though they sleep together, play together, they cannot stand or in this sit next to each without someone starting something. If I had three people to help and set back out of the picture, it might work. As you can see, cat’s needs to do what cats do and take your pictures that way.

Buy Help
Another good tip for taking pictures of your cat is to get help. You can purchase great pictures of playful cats and kittens by having someone help you wiggle a string, the throw a ball or call the cat’s name. It is very difficult to try to play with your cat and take pictures at the same time. Your pictures will turn out much better if you purchase someone to help you. In addition, if you are trying to get a picture of your cat looking directly at your camera, have someone stand above you can call the cat’s name, or make a noise that will prompt the cat to look directly above your head.

If you are a patient and willing, you can buy some excellent shots of your cat. Cats are so fun to take pictures of because you never know what they will do. Keep up your camera handy and ready to go as soon as your cat springs into action. Cat’s normal activity seems to make us smile and laugh, their antics always may wonderful pictures. Pictures of kittens playing from birth on also make for some great pictures. If you have the camera, you will never miss the perfect picture.

Merely for capturing the tremendous memories that you experience, you will get fond of using Canon underwater cameras fast.

Underwater cameras have most of the equivalent features as the handy cameras that we used out-of-doors – the only difference is that they include particular functions that are more ground-breaking because they are water resistant and can be used to capture pictures under the water.

Of course, these underwater cameras are not only absolutely for taking pictures under the sea because a few of them are also designed to be used in outside activities. In extreme rain these cameras will not be affected because of the protecting device to shield against water and pressure damage. They come in a number of forms, with their prices reflecting the full range of normal camera pricing.

The cheapest type of underwater camera for example is the simple throwaway underwater camera. These cameras are able to take about 30 to thirty pictures. These cameras are waterproof enough to be used when there is severe rain and snow storms. These are best use for cool scuba trips and family vacations; it will surely capture the unforgettable parts of the family fun.

One of the better known brands of underwater cameras is the Canon. It has been demonstrated efficient in all types of underwater adventures. Canon underwater cameras contain a lot of designs that offer other features. Each of the cameras gives advantages and particular features that you will really benefit from. However, as you would expect from a quality brand like Canon, these cameras might seem a bit pricey because of the gadgets used on it; nevertheless they are of most excellent quality and you will have no regrets once you see the resolution of your pictures.

Many conventional digital and film cameras encompass waterproof housings. Placing your camera inside will allow you to ‘transform’ your existing camera into an underwater camera. However, if you want tremendous photographic quality from under the water, we would always advise buying a dedicated underwater camera.

Canon underwater cameras came in assorted models. The higher the photo resolution that it has, generally the more costly the price is. Many of the underworld photographers that I know favor to use Canon underwater cameras because they offers a “one of a kind quality”. Running a Cinematography Big business – Mummy Entrepreneur

Early in 2000 I started my photography big business, initially my idea was to work weekends and build a name photographing wedding. I couldn’t devote all my time since I was a branding consultant, at that time I was being sent across the world. Soon the design branding company won a lucrative contract in Russia, it was then I made the decision to resign and concentrate on my cinematography. I couldn’t face the long trips and periods away from home anymore.

Soon after I’d had my first little one son, my husband was fantastic at this point. He realized my passion for photography and began working from home, which allowed me to develop my photography venture.

After 8 years, we’re a very tight knit family. The biggest discipline I face is to make sure I spend quality time with son and to switch off from my venture, come the end of the day. When my son is a few years older I will move my big business into an office, this will bar me from checking emails during the evening.

I now find cinematography addictive!! Stimulates your creativity, not only challenges you but takes you to great places, and hopefully rewards you with some great pictures. When you show pictures of a wedding portfolio, people are impressed, because they can see all of the wonderful details. In fact one wedding I took photographs for, the wedding chair cover hire company approached me to take pictures of their wedding chair covers for their brochure.

When it’s your own venture, you care desperately about every last detail. So when a customer calls you and says how delighted they are with their finished photographs, you’re so thrilled. Equally if something goes wrong, yes it does sometimes, you really feel responsible and want make sure it’s put right. As the saying goes “ you eat, drink and sleep your own small business” well this is certainly true.

Apart from all the obvious things you’ll need to think about – having a unique proposition, knowing your competition, compliance etc. I would say the most useful things I’ve come to understand is that ‘nothing happens unless you make it happen’ and that ‘ the worst thing anyone can say to you is no’, so don’t be afraid and just go for it.

Since starting my business, I have never looked back. After all the hardwork setting my business up, all the marketing and financial constraints it has been worth it.
If asked “would you have changed anything along the way”, my answer would be, I should have started my business sooner!

If you have an idea and passion, please follow your dream and set up your own business.

Infrared photography measures the heat that emanates from objects, and captures it on film. It has many applications to science and industry, and can even in many cases “see” objects buried under the earth.

The basis for infrared’s ability to detect underground objects is the difference in the way objects processing heat, when compared to neighboring dirt, farmland, etc. In its most advanced application, researchers have used infra red technology to see objects as deep as 38 feet below the earth.Such findings are subsequently followed up by radar examination , which can “see” reliably to 20 feet.

A very obvious application has been the detection of underground piping systems. Since piping often transmits material that is hotter or colder than the surrounding area, it creates a perceptible difference in the infrared emanations coming out from the surface above the object. Heating pipes, for example, will noticeably heat up insulation and the surrounding area, and make a very definite infrared imprint. At times such piping can be detected even when it runs under asphalt or concrete.

Any underground substance which transmits heat differently than the surrounding soil or vegetation can be investigated through infrared photography. This includes storm water drains, sewer lines, distribution piping and supply water mains.

Ariel infrared photography has been used for detection of underground petroleum piping. Surrounding environmental substrate has different effects on ambient temperature, however the piping can be traced though farmland, dirt roads, and even under asphalt surfaces.

Infra red detection of underground phenomena is usually done from a raised platform such as a tall truck or a helicopter. Quality examination can be made at night when the surface gives off the heat absorbed during the day.

How do you make the impossible possible ? Speeding through the forest on bikes ,making a car go underwater, make a game of football appear on the moon or even the TV weather forecaster standing in front of the animated weather systems.Well, all of it is illusion created by effects known as green screen or Chroma key software. This program allows you incredible artistic control to put subjects in totally imaginary situations but for it to appear totally real.
One of the common mistakes we see in developing believable shots, no matter what the type is with the lighting. With the new program suites and technologies that companies are releasing, managing the technical aspects of lifting the person and placing them into a new background has become an easy task. So we find ourselves at a place where taking a great shot is less about technical know how, and more about an eye for detail, layout and lighting.

The good thing is, if you’re shooting your own special effects, there are some obvious steps you can take to ensure it works with yourphotos. These are things you should do every time we pick up the camera, and they’ve saved more than one shot in the end.For a photography project that requires shooting the subject against a green, blue or chroma-key background, you should remember that it takes more than good lighting to avoid having your shots look set up.
Green/blue screen or chroma key software are each preferred for different types of shots.

1.Begin with the end: Before you even shoot a picture, think ahead about what the background of your project will look like, you should also be able to choose the appropriate camera height and lens that would ensure your footage edits well. The more planning and thought you have at the start, the more professional your work will be at the end.

2.Stay away from the background: Position your subject at least 8 feet away from the background . This will reduce your spill and if you’re using a longer lens, it will also help separate the subject from the chroma key, which will give you a clear edge. Often the background color reflects onto the subject creating a slight blue tinge around the edges. This is known as blue spill. It doesn’t look nearly as bad as green spill, which one would get from green.

3.Always check the screen is lit evenly with no shade areas or shadows and that includes the floor for full length shots.

4. Have a script to work with, this will eliminate errorswhen a shot or which prop is used when.Remember KISS.

5.Your subject should not be wearing anything the same color as the screen, green/blue depending on the background color,or parts of them will be invisible.

6.Ensure your green/blue screen is evenly lit. Any shadows can cause discoloration and stripes, which is not good.

7.Ensure the camera is not on “Auto White Balance”. Set it to manual and hold a piece of paper up to the lens so it can analyze the white balance with the light conditions in the room.

Be creative! Remember, with Chroma key equipment you can stand on a blue/green thing, and make it look like you’re flying!

We see them everywhere, in Magazines, on the Run Way, in advertisements on TV. They are the slender women strutting their stuff or extra ordinary Beauties with their sultry looks flashing their pearly whites while wearing the newest Styles from the hottest Designers. We are talking about the fashion models of today, yesterday and tomorrow. They are everywhere we look, but who brings them to us? Their images are captures with care and precision, patience and that special look for style, color and lighting composition. I am talking about the fashion photographers.

In the fashion circles famous names like Mario Testino (easily one of the hottest names out there) and Eva Mueller (photographer for Fashion Magazine Allure) are just as sought out if not more then those men and women sauntering their way into our conscious.

High Paychecks and glamour’s Lifestyle of hob nobbing it with the rich and famous might be the dream of many young shutterbug, however it is not easy to reach the golden Staircases of the well-known fashion houses and magazines. For every one talented photographer, hundreds are left panting at the sidewalk, only dreaming about the moment that their photo will be chosen.

Here are a few tips for the novice and dreamer of dreams in getting started in fashion photography. Study your subject. You can never learn enough. Read and look at any fashion Magazine you can get your hand on. There are fantastic books on Fashion and fashion photography available. Amazon.com has a true treasure trove available.
You need one or two good cameras, tripod and a lighting system. Always make sure that you have plenty of film and batteries available. SLR and digital cameras take different photos, so make sure you find the best for your field.

When submitting your work, hopefully to give a chance you have to have a portfolio on hand, just in case the editor of the fashion magazine wants to see samples of your work. I assure you if they consider working with you that is going to be a fact.
The sharp, bright images of a 4X5” transparency show of your take steps to its best effort. If you have already had a publication, no matter if, it was a small neighborhood magazine/paper or a contest a tear sheet (literally a sheet you tore out of the magazine) works well. If neither is at hand a good high quality 8 X 10 “is acceptable as well. You want to make sure that you have a minimum of 20 photos in your portfolio and preferably different styles. You want to show your expertise in full figure or just partial body parts.

Remember, fashion includes jewelry and accessories. Sometimes a observe from a famous maker on the slender wrist of a beautiful woman is a good fashion shoot. If you are applying for the job, be prepared to leave your Portfolio behind for an extended period of time, sometimes as much as a couple of weeks. I would advice you to make copies and have several on hand. This comes in handy when showing your work to many different people for consideration for fashion work.

In the time of modern technology, it is good to display your talent as a fashion photographer online as well. Set up a website; submit your photos to contests. Submit them to an online fashion gallery. This helps with getting your accomplish seen and people can see what type of work you actually do and can do for them.

All businesses,to begin with, have to budget not just their time but also their limited resources to prevent the businessfailing through bad management. Setting up a photography business is no exception . Whether you decide to be a traveling freelance photographer or open a small photography studio you have to make careful account of your time and money. If you have decided to specialize in portrait photographs, then there is also the added cost and stress of buying printed backdrops, on-location shots and trying to accommodate the client’s wishes for hard to create setting’s . Using Green screen program can save you time and money.

If you have to take on location shots then there is the problem of the weather, which of course we are unable to control. The best you can do is to watch the TV weather and hope that the predictions are correct. Also if you are taking photos in public places then there is the distinct possibility that the general public can interfere with your shoot.

The usual answer is to buy professionally printed backdrops or muslins. You can get a variety of indoor and outdoor backgrounds and also colored patterns to use fornormal portraits. The only problem with this is that each backdrop is rather expensive and if you are only going to use it on a few occasions, then this can be a waste of money. That being said, a few colored muslins and a couple of popular backdrops could well be a wise investment. The trouble is, how do you know which backdrops are fashionable and will stay that way long enough to get your money’s worth?

The other problem with printed backdrops is that often the designs that your client wants to use are not available as they are too local or not famous enough for the manufacturers to produce. You could of course get a company to print a particular scene for you but this again is very expensive.

Fortunately the solution to these problems is quite easy . Now you can use a green screen to get fabulous backgrounds every time. You just need to find out exactly what your customer wants and then find the necessary background shots before the time for the photographs. You can either take the photos yourself or purchase them online. Then when the customer subject returns, you take their photograph in front of the green/blue screen and then, using the green screen editing, you remove the green screen and replace it with the background the client requested. You can then show the client the photograph and when they are satisfied, create the prints. This way you haven’t wasted either time or money. It’s now time to bring your illusion to reality. The possibilities are endless and once you become confident and see the exciting results or the smiles on your clients faces you will be inspired to greater challenges. But best of all you get more customers and make more profit.
